French retailer 24S has collaborated with up-and-coming designer Tokyo James on an exclusive Paris-inspired capsule collection. This partnership aligns with 24S’s longstanding support for emerging talent.
The aptly named “Paris” capsule features reimagined versions of five signature Tokyo James jackets, including a bomber, denim jacket, blazer and biker jacket. James drew inspiration from his appreciation for Paris to craft new silhouettes, textural details, added embellishments and handwritten love notes that capture the city’s essence.
“I wanted to take the fantasy and fairy tales we associate with Paris and find the intersectionality with reality…Create a dream that fits and exists in your everyday life,” explained James about his creative vision.
As a 2022 LVMH Prize finalist, James is known for blending British tailoring and Nigerian roots in designs with global appeal. For this collaboration, he seamlessly fused his signature style with Parisian flair to create heritage pieces reinvented for 24S’s clientele.
With prices ranging from $778 to $1,884, the one-of-a-kind capsule also highlights James’ commitment to upcycling, with over 30% of each collection made from upcycled materials.
According to 24S Marketplace Director Maud Barrionuevo, the collection strikes “the perfect balance” between creativity, wearability and aligning with the brand’s mission. She initially suggested the collaboration after spotting James wearing a striking embellished moto jacket.
