In a groundbreaking move for Pakistani and South Asian fashion, esteemed fashion designer Mohsin Naveed Ranjha, alongside entrepreneur Malik Asad, unveiled their innovative design studio in the heart of London’s Regent Street, synonymous with the city’s luxurious fashion district.
This marks a historic occasion as it’s the first time a Pakistani haute couture brand has established a permanent presence in the global fashion epicenter, sharing the unique style, culture, and heritage of Pakistan and South Asia with the world. Bollywood actress Sonam Bajwa, along with numerous leading Pakistani and Indian social figures, graced the lavish launch event. The new studio captivated hundreds of onlookers queuing outside, eager to witness the glamour exhibited inside, featuring richly crafted, vibrant designer attire.
The pioneering project on Mortimer Street, just off Regent Street, is the brainchild of Creative Director Mohsin Naveed Ranjha, Managing Director Abubakar Naveed Ranjha, and fashion ecosystem trailblazer Asad Malik. They herald their MNR studio as set to redefine opulence and refinement, offering an extensive range for both men and women. In conversation with this correspondent, Mohsin Naveed Ranjha and Asad Malik disclosed that after thorough market research, they decided on London as the ideal location. They are convinced that there’s no better place than London – with its Regent Street, Oxford Circus, and Bond Street area – to cater to the British Asian community and expand Pakistan’s fashion footprint to more diverse spectators. A significant portion of their clientele hails from India, including a substantial number of NRI Punjabis, and Bangladeshis, affirming London’s suitability.
Sonam Bajwa, Bollywood’s Punjabi powerhouse actress, has been fielding questions from Londoners seeking quality apparel for special occasions. She expressed, “Now people need not travel to India or Pakistan for wedding attire. Mohsin is in high demand in India and abroad. His journey transcends fashion, representing culture and community that inspire and uplift.”
Mohsin Naveed Ranjha conveyed his profound pride and sense of achievement. He harbored a long-standing desire to showcase Pakistani craftsmanship to the world from the London hub.
Cresset CEO Malik Asad highlighted that the London debut was strategically based on market intelligence. “It’s all about credibility and good intentions. We strategize the positioning of fashion brands in Pakistan on the global stage.”
Ranjha stands as one of South Asia’s preeminent designers, with his fashion touch adorning Hollywood, Bollywood, and Pakistani stars alike, including Tan France, Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, Karan Aujla, Jhanvi Kapoor, Mahira Khan, and Maya Ali.
