Blake Lively took wardrobe matters into her own hands during a recent visit to Kensington Palace. Her iconic 2022 Met Gala ensemble is currently part of the palace’s Crown to Couture exhibit. Upon seeing her Statue of Liberty dress improperly draped on the mannequin, Lively hopped the rope barrier to fix it herself.
“When you’re the clown who hops over the rope at the museum to fix the exhibit,” Lively joked on Instagram alongside a video of the moment. In the clip, she artfully adjusts the skirt’s folds to achieve the perfect drape.
The Versailles-inspired Versace gown was one of the most talked-about looks from the 2022 Met Gala. Lively also posed with the crown and earrings she wore that night, created by Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira Jewels. “This was absolutely surreal. Seeing this crown that we made in Kensington Palace,” she captioned the photo.
Blake Lively’s Met Gala ensemble is part of the Kensington Palace exhibit showcasing modern celebrity fashion’s parallels to 18th century royal couture. Other dresses on display include Beyoncé’s 2017 Grammys gown, Lizzo’s 2022 Met Gala look, and Billie Eilish’s peach Oscar de la Renta Met dress.
