Atiana De La Hoya may be charting her own beauty path, but she’s not letting go of the timeless advice passed down from her mom, Shanna Moakler.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the launch of her “Beauty Without Bunnies” campaign with PETA in Calabasas, California, Atiana reflected on the influence of the women in her life, especially her mom, a fixture of ’90s glamour.
“My mom and my grandma have given me more beauty advice than I could probably remember,” she shares, reminiscing about watching her mom’s makeup rituals. “She knew all the good tips from the ’90s and early 2000s.”
While she values the wisdom from her mom, Atiana has also discovered her own beauty truths. She’s adopted a “less is more” approach, aiming for authenticity. Her partnership with PETA was born out of a desire to align her beauty routine with her love for animals.
@bopti GUY of all guys!!
“There’s so much outreach and education, which I think is really important,” Atiana says of her collaboration with PETA, driven by her compassion for animals.
Besides her advocacy work, Atiana celebrated another milestone recently – turning 25. Her approach to the new year is simple: “I just want it to be a fun, good year,” she shares.
Speaking on self-love, Atiana emphasizes the importance of kindness, especially towards oneself. “No one really cares,” she says, urging a shift away from harsh self-judgment.
