Iconic French fashion house Jean Paul Gaultier has announced an exciting collaboration with British womenswear label KNWLS. The two brands will launch a new womenswear collection on September 8, 2022 featuring over 40 pieces including tops, jackets, pants, and dresses.
According to initial reports by Business of Fashion, the Jean Paul Gaultier x KNWLS collection will be sold at leading luxury retailers including Ssense, MyTheresa, The Webster, FWRD, and Net-A-Porter. To kick off the partnership, the labels will work with Ssense during New York Fashion Week. KNWLS will also debut some of the collaboration items during their own September runway show.
KNWLS co-founder and designer Alexandre Arsenault told BoF that the collection combines aesthetics from both brands, like prints and “grunge elements.” Arsenault said, “It feels like it could be part of the Jean Paul Gaultier archive already – but also the KNWLS archive.”
Jean Paul Gaultier’s creative director Florence Tétier also commented that KNWLS’ world connects strongly to JPG’s legacy, “especially the specific vision of the female body that both houses share.”
