Ramsgate’s vibrant community spirit shines once again as seven local charity shops join forces to present the much-anticipated 2024 Charity Shop Fashion Show at Radford House.
Scheduled for Saturday, June 22, this year’s event builds upon the resounding success of last year’s show hosted by the charming Julie Forsyth, which raised over £1000 for charity.
Emphasizing inclusivity, the fashion show welcomes volunteer models of all ages and sizes, with last year’s lineup comprising 32 individuals ranging from six to over 80 years old, none with prior modeling experience. From nervous beginnings to confident strides, the transformative journey of these models captivated the supportive audience.
Following the runway spectacle, all showcased items will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the participating charity shops: RSPCA, Pilgrim’s Hospices, TAG Pet Rescue, Cats In Crisis, Cancer Research UK, British Red Cross, and Shelter.
Exciting additions to this year’s show include the “Unique Creations” competition, celebrating creative upcycling, and a live auction featuring select standout pieces.
Adding to the festivities, attendees can enjoy refreshments from the bar and lively interval music courtesy of a local Ukulele band.
Doors open at 6:30 pm, with tickets priced at £10, available for purchase from all participating charity shops and online via Ticket Tailor starting May 22.
Continuing the weekend’s celebration of sustainability, Radford House will host a Summer fair on June 23 from 11 am to 3 pm. Alongside the charity shops’ stalls, visitors can explore local crafts and bric-a-brac, promoting the ethos of recycling and upcycling within the community.
