Capacity, a leading third-party logistics provider specializing in product fulfillment and ecommerce solutions, has revealed its “2024 Capacity Colorful Smile Index.” This index, based on the analysis of over 1.3 million lip products—ranging from lipstick and lip gloss to lip liner—shipped across all states in the past year, unveils interesting insights into regional lip care trends.
Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Indiana, and Oregon emerge as the states with the highest demand for lip care products, indicating a strong emphasis on lip health and beauty among their residents. Following closely behind are the District of Columbia, California, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
Thom Campbell, Chief Strategy Officer & Co-founder of Capacity, expressed surprise at the findings, particularly noting the unexpected prominence of Delaware and New Jersey in lipstick sales. “Honestly, we were surprised by the data,” Campbell remarked, highlighting the diverse preferences observed across different regions.
With a clientele spanning over 50 brands in the retail, beauty, and wellness sectors, Capacity collaborates closely with its partners to drive growth and enhance customer experiences. The data collected reflects purchases from various independent direct-to-consumer celebrity and high-end beauty brands.
“While beauty is subjective, our clients play a crucial role in helping customers express their personal style,” Campbell explained. “Through customized packaging and unique decorative elements, such as scented tissue paper and handwritten notes, we aim to elevate the unboxing experience and foster lasting connections with consumers.”
These insights not only shed light on evolving beauty trends but also underscore the significance of personalized packaging and exceptional customer service in the competitive retail landscape.
