Get ready for a unique blend of art and fashion at the July 4th First Thursday reception at the Art Center, 215 Fisk St., in Downtown Brownwood. This free event is open to the public.
Join us for a special artisan fashion show starting at 5:30 pm, featuring textile artist Mary Green Engle, Brownwood Art Association Artist of the Year. Mary’s imaginative pieces will be showcased by members of the BAA and the Fiber and Textile Arts group, with Bruce Engelman as the Master of Ceremonies.
This fashion show marks a new addition to the Art Center’s offerings, alongside the three-artist exhibit running until July 25. The exhibit includes the works of multi-medium artist Charlotte Garrett Cooper and artisan potter Mike Lewis, promising a dynamic display of diverse artistic expressions.
Charlotte Cooper is renowned for her whimsical yet thought-provoking assemblage art, while Mike Lewis presents his distinctive raku pottery featuring bold metallic glazes and subtle finishes. The gallery is open weekdays from 2-6 pm, and admission is free.
