If you’re a fan of makeup hacks, you’re in for a treat. Makeup artist Huda Kattan has unveiled her latest trick for achieving the “poutiest, most juicy-looking lips” – and it’s called ‘lip cuffing’.
The process involves cleverly over-lining and shading your lips before applying any color. Kattan’s method is broken down into steps: cuff it, blend it, link it, fill it, and gloss it. The result? Deliciously glossy lips that you’ll want to recreate.
For my attempt at this technique, I opted for the Dibs Beauty No Pressure Lip Definer, Made Beauty Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Cookie Butter, and Huda Beauty Faux Filler Lipgloss in Sugar Baby.
Starting with outlining and filling in with the lip liner, blending it seamlessly, and then adding the lipstick and gloss, I was ready to see the results.
While I didn’t achieve the extreme juiciness I expected, the technique did enhance my lip contour, particularly in lifting the shape. The “cuff it” step, akin to contouring, proved effective in creating a more lifted appearance.
Though this technique may not revolutionize your lips, it’s certainly a lesson in the power of contouring. So, if you’re looking to amp up your lip game, give ‘lip cuffing’ a try and see the difference for yourself!
