Amissah-Aggrey, inspired by Fashion Week Columbus, found the courage to pursue her dream despite obstacles. She recalls the pivotal moment: “Seeing others excel in fashion ignited my own creativity. I knew I had to make my mark.”
With determination and support, she honed her sewing skills and secured grants to realize her vision. As she immersed herself in creating garments, she noticed a profound shift in her confidence and self-perception. Overcoming years of depression, she realized, “There was never anything wrong with me. I just needed to embrace who I always was.”
Her brand, “Baddest,” embodies self-affirmation and empowerment. “I affirm that I’m the baddest,” she explains, “not in comparison, but because I embrace my identity and worth.”
Amissah-Aggrey aims for her designs to empower others, saying, “I want people to feel as confident and comfortable in their own skin as I do. When they wear our clothes, I want them to walk in like they own the room.”
Since her debut at Fashion Week Columbus, Amissah-Aggrey has expanded her presence, participating in shows nationwide and eagerly anticipating her upcoming appearances.
